1984 | 12th Annual National Glass Invitational

This exhibition at Habitat Galleries in Lathrup Village, Michigan brought together 114 glass artists and featured the companion publication of “Glass: State of the Art 1984,” which was compiled and edited by Ferdinand Hampson.

The 9”x12” hardcover book visually documents the works of the artists represented in this exhibition. It contains biographies of each artist, quotes from other artists, critics, gallery directors and curators, plus reprints of the significant articles, reviews and critiques that have appeared in 1983 and early 1984. This was the first book to exclusively survey contemporary artists using glass.
